Veronica Mars To Return To TV
A Veronica Mars series revival is currently in the works at American streaming service Hulu, with original creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell on board to return. The cult favorite television series premiered on UPN in 2004, transferring over to The CW for its third and final season. Inspired by noir mysteries, Veronica Mars followed the titular teenage detective, played by Bell, who in the first season investigates the murder of her best friend Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried). The second season saw Veronica look into a deadly bus crash while the third season followed Veronica to college where she searched for a serial rapist and later looked into the death of the dean.
The show was cancelled by The CW in 2006, with the season three finale serving as the series’ ending – and fans were left hanging about a number of storylines. However, Veronica Mars continued to build its following and the creatives involved launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2013 that was funded and eventually lead to the release of a Veronica Mars movie in 2014. Now, though, it seems fans haven’t seen the last of Veronica Mars just yet as apparently filming starts this fall on the new series first season.
